Master
My thesis was about applying methods from Data Assimilation to climate model data and climate archives (speleothemes and icecores) for reconstructing climate fields of the past 2000 years.
I gave the following talks about my master thesis
- Master final presentation
- Outline presentation of the project
- Update presentation (focus on computational efficiency of different type of Ensemble Kalman Filters)
- Paper presentation in the climate variability Journal club. Global Temperature Responses to Large Tropical Volcanic Eruptions by Tejedor et al.
In 2021, I prepared a seminar work on “Temperature reconstructions for the Last Glacial Maximum as constraints for climate sensitivity” (2021).
- Presentation
- Written report Without knowing it, this brought me to the topic of my master thesis, Paleoclimate Data Assimilation. By now I understand some aspects way better than I did back then, so obviously I would write things differently know. For a full overview of the topic I recommend having a look into my thesis (in particular chapter 2.6).
Presentations during my stay at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (2019)
The 15 minute talks were given in Spanish, therefore the slides are in Spanish language.
- Barotropic and baroclinic instabilities (Hydrodynamics course)
- Climate proxies (Atmospheric physics course)
- Polymer conformation (Polymer physics course)
- Musical scales (Acoustics course)
Bachelors
- Bachelor thesis about working with spatial light modulators in experimental quantum physics.
- Seminar talk on the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradoxon (in German)
